BEHAVIOR SUPPORT SPECIALIST

1.0 FTE - 11-Month Position
Qualifications Required:
Candidate must possess a Master's degree in Special Education with current NYS teaching certification
OR Consideration may also be given to School Psychologist and/or School Social worker with a strong background in Applied Behavior Analysis; OR Meet Civil Service Qualifications; AND
Licensed in New York State as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) preferred OR seeking/enrolled in required coursework to obtain certification
Qualifications Desired:
A minimum of three years experience of teaching and/or providing services to students with autism or other special needs including:

- Advanced understanding of principles and instructional strategies based on ABA
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work in teams, effective and competent oral and written communication skills
