SUMMARY: The Content/SEO Writer is responsible for the creation of short and long form external marketing content to drive engagement among diverse audiences. She/he will expertly write scalable, response-oriented web content and promotions, and a variety of editorial/advertising/marketing copy for a range of marketing channels and audiences. The position works closely with internal clients to understand and add value to projects.

• Promote the K12 brand and other lines of business through the creation of compelling and educational copy for articles, thought-leadership/contributed content, inbound and outbound marketing collateral, partner program assets, email campaigns, social media programs, video scripts, infographics
• Copywriting for web pages and product
• Seamlessly collaborate with the analytics team to refine and convert our SEO strategy
• Develops strategically on-target, response-oriented communications employing an effective level of writing as well as correct grammar, usage and spelling
• Partners closely with social media; creative and digital teams
• Works collaboratively with group leaders and fellow team members to develop compelling ideas, concepts, and campaigns; works closely with marketing teams and internal clients to understand and add value to project requirements; particular skill with regard to creating content packages with images and video
• Maintains awareness of social media and content marketing trends and applications as well as what is scalable for businesses
• Processes a high volume of work efficiently while maintaining quality using production and project management interfaces while maintaining within K12 guidelines and voice
• Create user-focused online content that meets industry-best practices, contains appropriate calls-to-action, and creates an interactive experience that engages and intrigues visitors
• Understand and apply principals of search engine optimization (SEO) to web content projects
• Has the ability to edit peer's copy/work to help ensure clarity, accuracy and message impact
• Possesses excellent interpersonal communications skills, flexibility, and adaptability as well as engage with internal and external partners for content creation and/or promotion efforts
Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related field AND
• 5 years of writing/editing experience in advertising, marketing, or journalism OR
• Equivalent combination of education and experience

OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience using a Content Management System (CMS) to write for digital properties/web/blogging with effective Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
• Strong Integrity and Ethics
• Familiarity with effectively creating and marketing content through social media channels
• Familiarity with HTML, digital best practices and analytics tools
• Thorough understanding of standard copy editing skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Adobe Creative Suite, HTML, CSS, JavaScript; Word Press
• Strong commitment to deliver error-free work with superior attention to detail
• Flexibility, adaptability, and excellent interpersonal/collaborative skills
• Ability to pass background check requirements
