Essential Functions and Objectives:

Director level position with full operational responsibility for Terminal Operations. Under the direction of the Executive Director of Transportation, this position plans, directs, manages and oversees the activities of Terminal operations.

- Develop and manage programs, policies, and procedures by setting annual goals and standards, measuring and reporting monthly progress, reviewing existing department policies and procedures and developing strategies for improvement; a strategic plan.

- Organize, direct and coordinate the work of supervisory personnel; delegate authority and responsibility.

- Provide administrative and professional leadership and direction.

- Provide Staff Development opportunities.

- Communicate with other departmental administrators, district personnel and outside organizations to coordinate activities and programs.

- Respond to and resolve difficult and sensitive parent and citizen inquiries and complaints; confer with school authorities and parents on disciplinary problems of student passengers.

- Review and follow Federal, State and local rules and regulations and procedures applicable to passenger transportation.

- Stay abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of student transportation.

- Perform other duties as required.

Knowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:

- Four to (4) to Six (6) years of management operations experience.

Demonstrated conflict resolution and mediation skills.

- Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, and Power Point).

- Strong oral, written communications skills and presentation ability.

- Ability to meet deadlines and schedules; setting priorities; working with multiple projects, frequent interruptions, and changing work priorities; working with detailed information/data and maintaining accurate records.

- Build influential relationships and alliances with diverse work groups and external organizations.

- Ability to create procedures and process which promote efficiencies and automation.

- Work effectively with the collective bargaining unit.

- Maintain confidentiality.

- Knowledge of school transportation local, state and federal regulations (e.g., Department of Transportation, Commercial Driver License, Colorado Department of Education, School Bus Operators' rules, minimum standards for school bus, drug and alcohol compliance).

- Knowledge of Cayenta Financials with budget experience.

- Knowledge and experience with fleet maintenance and routing software.

- Office equipment includingPC, copiers, fax, scanner and calculator.

- Specialized equipment for securing students with disabilities (e.g., wheelchair tie downs).

- Two way radios, GPS programs.

- Valid Commercial (Class B2PS) Driver License.

- Appropriate insurance coverage and acceptable driving record for the last three (3) years.

- Current First Aid Card.
- Current DOT Physical Card.

Education Requirements:

- High School Diploma or equivalent minimum.

- Bachelor\u2019s degree in relevant industry preferred.
