The School Psychologist provides psychological evaluation services including, but not limited to, assessments, reports, providing related educational recommendations, consultation, therapy, and any other applicable educational services for students of the school.     ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:. The below State ments are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.
  • Ensures all newly received documents (evaluation team reports, etc.) are compliant; Takes the necessary steps to ensure compliance when necessary; Ensures all existing documents are compliant following the guidelines set forth by the State .
  • Demonstrates understanding of criteria for all areas of eligibility according to Georgia DOE rules/guidelines.
  • Administers academic assessments to currently enrolled students per mandated time frames when assigned
  • Assists in evaluation team report meetings;
  • Participates in the school's intervention assistance team when needed
  • Assists the Special Education Director and Psychological Services Manager in developing/leading/participating in professional development for the general education staff, special education staff, and parents of students in special education programs.
  • Works closely with guidance counselors to provide training in various emotional health areas
  • Keeps abreast of all changing legislative issues impacting special education eligibility.
  • Attend eligibility meetings to review psychological assessments and aid in eligibility determinations
  • Draft eligibility reports for students
  • Review results of evaluations with parents
  • Attend RTI meetings as needed
  • Provide parent consultations
  • Consult with teachers/administrators about student concerns
  • Assist Lead Psychologist when needed

Are you driven by excellence to deliver instruction, support and guidance, manage the learning process, and focus on students' individual needs? If selected, you will participate in a comprehensive new teacher training program for three weeks before the start of school. It is an opportunity to meet colleagues and learn the responsibilities required for delivering curriculum in an online environment. During this training you will also learn how to monitor student progress through K12's learning management system, and to be a partner actively working with students and parents to advance each child's learning.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree AND
  • One (1) year of experience as a school psychologist OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates and Licenses: Current Georgia State certification/licensure in school psychology
Other Required Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel; Web proficiency
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time to administer assessment, and attend professional development and District meetings
  • Ability to pass required background check
Desired Qualifications
  • Specialist Degree
