POSITION SUMMARY:
The Coordinator of Instructional Leadership designs, coordinates, and delivers professional learning opportunities and resources to leadership teams that support the school and district strategic plans. The Coordinator works collaboratively with district and school leaders to build the capacity of leadership teams through effective school-based leadership coaching. The Coordinator delivers innovative, research-based, and job-embedded learning opportunities, and implements district-wide initiative for professional coaching that supports school-based leaders in the ongoing development and effectiveness of Professional Learning Communities. The Coordinator collaborates closely with the Associate Superintendents.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  1. Stays current on best practices in instructional leadership, professional coaching, and the Georgia Standards of Excellence.
  2. Consults with principals and their leadership teams regarding the professional learning needs of teachers and non-instructional staff. Provides guidance and hands-on support to school leadership teams in designing professional coaching integration into the school.
  3. Creates and delivers, in collaboration with Associate Superintendents, professional learning to support the district-wide professional coaching and leadership competency frameworks by using best practices.
  4. Designs, conducts, and participates in workshops, committees, conferences, and other learning activities designed to promote leadership and professional learning.
  5. Creates and works collaboratively with other departments for the integration of district-wide professional learning framework and methodologies.
  6. Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
  • Has knowledge and becomes an expert resource on leadership development, school-based decision making and effective professional coaching.
  • Understands the district framework for professional coaching.
  • Has successful experience designing and delivering professional learning.
  • Is able to plan, organize, provide leadership, and work collaboratively with other teams.
  • Possesses strong interpersonal skills and the ability to create productive and healthy relationships.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills with outstanding attention to detail.
  • Proficient in MS PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.


Requirements : EDUCATION:
  • Master?s degree in related education field required.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:
  • Must possess or be eligible to obtain Georgia Professional Standards Commission Certification;
  • Leadership certificate or related certifications required
WORK EXPERIENCE:
  • Five years of educational experience required;
  • Three years of school-based leadership experience required;
  • Experience in the area of professional coaching preferred


Compensation : Salary Grade: 133
Salary Range: FY'20 APS Salary Schedule (All Positions)
Work Year: ANNUAL
