SUMMARY: The Project Manager 2 works directly with Chief of Staff, Academics, Policy, and Schools, and is responsible for supporting, planning and directing projects which often require considerable resources and high levels of functional integration. The incumbent helps enable project goals to be accomplished within the prescribed time frame, funding parameters and with adherence to quality standards. The incumbent also prepares or facilitates the preparation of project deliverables and communicates with team members regarding the status of specific projects as appropriate.

• Supports the Academics, Policy, and School leadership team in development of procedures for projects and pilot programs;
• Works directly with multiple teams, including external vendors and partnered companies, to assist in guiding business requirements;
• Develops project plans specifying goals, requirements, scheduling, risks, contingency plans, and prioritization of in-house and third party resources;
• Ensures a common understanding of project plans to align stakeholders, third party partners and team members in order to keep the project plan accurate, updated, and within cost budgeted;
• Assists with the identification, implementation and evolution of project procedures and workflows in support of K12's dynamic and growing business needs; Optimizes processes, tools, metrics, and staff to enable effective and efficient delivery for all assigned projects;
• Records detailed requirements, constraints, and assumptions in order to establish the project deliverables, using requirement-gathering techniques (e.g., planning sessions, brainstorming, focus groups) and the project charter;
• Coordinates with other K12 teams to ensure business prioritizations are on track and communicates necessary changes to management;
• Interacts with other departments and organizations to ensure project success. Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree AND
• Five (5) years of experience in a related role AND
• Five (5) years of project management exposure OR
• Equivalent combination of education and experience

OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Ability to work across multiple job levels to achieve results
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a deadline driven process
• Consistent success in working in a team environment
• Excellent Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Web application skills
• Outstanding time management and organization skills
• Ability to travel 5% of the time
• Ability to pass required background check

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Existing / prior K12 experience a plus
• Project Management Institute (PMI) certification such as Certified Associate Project Manager (CAPM)
• Familiarity with Hypertext Markup Language (HTML)
