The Speech Services Manager provides direct oversight of speech-pathology compliance within the school's special education department in order to ensure compliance with federal, State and school laws, regulations, policies and procedures. The role serves as a point of contact for all teachers, staff, parents and service providers regarding speech-language therapy and services provided to students through an Individualized Education Plan (IEP).     ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The below State ments are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position.   • Works collaboratively with special programs leadership, special education teachers, and contractors to achieve speech language special education compliance goals, serves as a liaison between parents, teachers, lead teachers, and administration to effectively serve all speech students and those being considered for services.
  • Monitors data collection in weekly team meetings and gives feedback and guidance related to the data in the eligibility process to ensure students' academic needs are met while maintaining Special Education compliance.
  • Drafts special education documents, serves as LEA representative, and/or prepares speech evaluation summary reports in support of the district special education program.
  • Monitors and supports the school's compliance timelines and adherence to State and federal regulations; to include 60 day evaluation metrics.
  • Monitors all speech-language referrals, speech eligibility process, and the provision of speech services.
  • Reviews speech evaluations and notes from contracted clinicians to serve as a resource for speech service eligibility meetings, Individualized Education Program meetings, Student Support Team meetings, and Response to Intervention meetings in which Speech Language referrals are being discussed.
  • Prepares initial Speech eligibilities; collects progress monitoring data for all students in the process and reports findings in regularly scheduled eligibility meetings.
  • Monitors student progress when they are referred for Speech evaluations, works with the teacher and learning coach to ensure the collection of progress-monitoring data through the process;
  • Screens, consults, and provides Speech-Language evaluations for students with identified Speech-Language impairments and develops reports based on screening and evaluation results to submit to eligibility team for review as needed.
    Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises Full-time Equivalent (FTE) regular employees and contractors. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Are you driven by excellence to deliver instruction, support and guidance, manage the learning process, and focus on students' individual needs? If selected, you will participate in a comprehensive new teacher training program for three weeks before the start of school. It is an opportunity to meet colleagues and learn the responsibilities required for delivering curriculum in an online environment. During this training you will also learn how to monitor student progress through K12's learning management system, and to be a partner actively working with students and parents to advance each child's learning.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Speech Language pathology AND
  • Three (3) years of Speech/Language work experience OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

Certificates and Licenses:Georgia Speech-Language Pathology license and/or certification through Georgia Professional Standards Commission.
Other Required Qualifications
  • Assists with the implementation of school, procedures and projects;
  • Serves on school committees; participates in professional development sessions;
  • Assists with GCA efforts including participation in special projects and/or task-forces, developing policies and procedures and training.
  • Ability to travel 50%
  • Ability to pass required background check
