The Academic Administrator directs and coordinates educational, administrative, and counseling activities of primary and secondary schools by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. AS AN Academic Administrator, YOU WILL ENJOY...

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:The below State ments are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position. This is not a complete listing of all responsibilities, duties and/or skills required; other duties may be assigned.   • Develops and coordinates educational programs through meetings with staff, review of teachers' activities, and issuance of directives; Develops and administers educational programs for students with mental or physical disabilities; Evaluates to ensure conformance to State and school board standards;
  • Researches and implements K12 and non-K12 curriculum resources to meet State standards; Maintains high levels of quality assurance, including course evaluation and course approval procedures; Contributes to policy and planning;
  • Supervises school principals (High School, Elementary/Middle School) and programs; Confers with administrators, teachers, students, and parents concerning educational and behavioral problems in school;
  • Requisitions and allocates supplies, equipment, and instructional material as needed;
  • Directs preparation of class schedules, cumulative records, and attendance reports;
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with colleges, community organizations, and other schools to coordinate educational services; Serves as liaison with other administrative staff, academic colleagues and students; Serves as liaison with partner institutions, other institutions, external agencies, government departments and prospective students.

    Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises 4-20 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees and/or contractors including the Elementary/Middle School Principal and High School Principal. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Are you driven by excellence to deliver instruction, support and guidance, manage the learning process, and focus on students' individual needs? If selected, you will participate in a comprehensive new teacher training program for three weeks before the start of school. It is an opportunity to meet colleagues and learn the responsibilities required for delivering curriculum in an online environment. During this training you will also learn how to monitor student progress through K12's learning management system, and to be a partner actively working with students and parents to advance each child's learning.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Business, Education or related AND
  • Five (5) years of related experience and/or training OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

Certificates and Licenses: State Specific Teaching License and/or Administrators License
Other Required Qualifications
  • Demonstrable leadership, organizational and time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Very proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to travel up to 30 % of the time
  • Ability to pass required background check
