POSITION SUMMARY:

The International Baccalaureate Program Coordinator is responsible for providing assistance to the Principal with implementing and monitoring the program. Additionally, the Coordinator will report directly to the principal of the school.

This is a PGCEA - Table B (11-month)

Salary Range: $52,560 - $114,201

Detailed Description:

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Assisting the principal in defining and communicating the IB mission for the school;
  • Providing instructional leadership, in concert with the principal, for the implement of the IB curriculum;
  • Assisting in coordinating the IB program in conjunction with the appropriate school and central office staff;
  • Assisting the principal in supervising the IB program, and other programs within the school;
  • Working with central office personnel to assist in the preparation of curriculum documents, correlation of instructional materials documents, units of study and program evaluation for the IB program.
  • Monitoring and assessing student achievement and participation outcomes with appropriate data collection and analysis.
  • Using data to make recommendations for improving the program and designing and monitoring programs for intervention and support;
  • Providing direct support to all classroom teachers in the area of curriculum, instruction, and classroom management;
  • Providing staff development opportunities to teachers during the entire school year and summer;
  • Assisting in counseling students and making recommendations for placement from IB to the Diploma Program;
  • Planning, organizing and coordinating summer programs for students;
  • Planning and implementing special events for students that will encourage, guide, and educate them on the different choices available in the areas of IB;
  • Engaging in professional activities, which contribute to leadership development;
  • Communicating effectively with students, staff and administrative and supervisory personnel, parents and community; and
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated leadership and administrative competency;
  • Ability to organize and prioritize the many aspects of the position;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships;
  • Five years of successful teaching experience;
  • Knowledge of the use of computers;
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills;
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with Microsoft word, excel, and power point;
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate complex operations and activities in multiple settings;
  • Effective human relations skills; and
  • Evidence of effective leadership skills.

  • EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

    Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's Degree required.

    CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

    Advanced Professional Certificate; Administration I certification preferred.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    No direct supervisory responsibilities.
