00057059: Director of Instruction Inclusion (Upper Campus Grades 7-12) - BASAS 10B (SY19-20)
General Description and Goals:
The role of the Director of Instruction is to support the Principal to plan, organize, coordinate and evaluate curriculum, instruction, and staff development for students of all abilities in Grades 7-12 in order to improve student learning outcomes for all students.
Reports to: Principal
Responsibilities:
1) Serve as primary evaluator and instructional coach to content teachers in grades 7-12
2) In conjunction with principal, plan and facilitate monthly K-12 instructional leadership team (ILT) meetings.
3) Plan and facilitate monthly ILT meetings for grades 7-12, including coaching and supervision of content team leaders.
4) Serve as administration team point person for content team CPT meetings in grade 7-12.
5) Coordinate and facilitate interim assessment administration, data meetings, reteach plans, and other elements of data-driven instruction for interim assessments as well as MCAS.
6) In conjunction with principal, plan and facilitate K-12 staff professional development.
7) In conjunction with principal, develop and revise the conceptual framework for the master schedule
8) Coordinate curriculum mapping and vertical alignment, grades 7-12, including the adoption of textbooks, online resources, and other curriculum materials
9) Coordinate instructional rounds and peer observations
10) Organize academic family outreach events such as Literacy Night and STEM celebrations
11) In conjunction with Guidance Coordinator, develop and coordinate college readiness program
12) In conjunction with principal, oversee hiring of new teachers grades 7-12
13) Evaluate and coach ELA and Math content coaches and department leaders
14) Coordinate support and professional development for new teachers, including recruitment and management of part-time NTDs
15) Design and implement intervention programs targeting students making slow progress
16) Meeting commitments: admin team, K-12 ILT, 6-12 ILT, content team CPT grades 7-12, coaching team

Qualifications:
Required:
- Three (3) years urban teaching experience (K-12)
- Hold a valid Massachusetts Supervisor/Director (Non-Core)
- Experience with IEP implementation
- SEI Endorsement
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Experience working in an inclusive setting
- Masters Degree
