Essential Functions and Objectives:

The Regional Communications Specialist will develop and implement comprehensive marketing and communications plans that support schools in Far Northeast Denver. T he Regional Communications Specialist will work to outline needs and recommend outcomes for marketing plans, and will lead the strategic and tactical implementation of these plans. Duties may include research and discovery, development of plans and timelines, content creation, design guidance, budget management, and day-to-day implementation of communications needs at the school level.

- Work with the school marketing team and designated school leaders to prioritize schools for marketing and communications support. Consult with school leaders to develop marketing and communications plans and manage the implementation of those plans.

- Provide comprehensive, strategic marketing communications support to schools in the Far Northeast region, including professional consultation related to branding, marketing collateral, student recruitment and retention strategies, website design, social media, media relations, event-based marketing, direct mail, internal communications, and stakeholder engagement.

- Collaborate with graphic designer, web designer and other communications team members to ensure consistency in messaging and visual branding.

- Act as point of contact and project manager for school client accounts; manage timeline, resources and completion for multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining keen attention to detail.

Knowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:

- Five (5) to ten (10) years of comprehensive experience in strategic communications, marketing, media relations and/or internal communications.

- Exceptional relationship?building, strategic planning, facilitation and project-management skills necessary to organize a variety of stakeholders around common goals.

- Strong creative skills to develop messaging and visual concepts that will inspire stakeholders to action.

- Experience in stakeholder engagement and outreach to a diverse community.

- Exceptional written and verbal communications skill, as well as experience with tailoring messaging to a variety of audiences, including families for whom English is not their first language.

- Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines within a fast-paced environment.

- Colorado driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to and from schools throughout Far Northeast Denver.

- Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus.

- Basic graphic design experience.

- Familiarity with DPS departments and schools , and with Northeast Denver neighborhoods of the wider Green Valley Ranch and Montbello areas, is beneficial but is not required.

Additional Considerations:

- This position will require flexibility with work hours in order to meet the schedule-related needs of school leaders .

- This position may require travel to business and community partner sites throughout the city

- This role will be part of the DPS Communications Office, but will spend up to 90% of its time at school sites working directly with school leaders.

Education Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree, preferably in communications, marketing or related field.
