POSITION SUMMARY:
The Finance Liaison works with the Finance division leadership, serving as a liaison between departments within Finance , school-based financial managers and other cross-functional financial managing groups, ensuring financial information is managed and processed according to district practices, policies and procedures.
This role reports to the Director of Resource Strategy and manages the Finance Accountability Support Tools (F.A.S.T.) matrix and its outputs, ensuring best practices are being implemented throughout the district by providing training and support as needs are identifiied. This role will collaborate with Budget, Procurement, Payroll, Accounting, Cash Management, Accounts Payable and Logistics Services areas and will be well-versed in standard processes and procedures within these areas.

This role requires extensive travel between the district offices and schools.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Meets with school-based and central office financial managers weekly to provide guidance and support
• Facilitates trainings in all areas of Finance with tiers of training progression for school-based and central office budget center managers
• Manages and facilitates financial management focus groups and cohorts across the district which will assist in the process of identifying financial best practices that exist in our schools
• Communicates with other Finance representatives regarding finance-related issues; coordinates problem solving and troubleshooting efforts to develop proper processes to manage and establish resolutions
• Reviews historical financial audit findings and analyzes trends to determine problematic areas for schools
• With oversight from the Director, develops a comprehensive plan to standardize financial practices, implements training strategies for budget center managers and monitors financial data for adherence to best practices
• Maintains scorecard and develops monthly, quarterly and annual reports of findings
• Reviews all Finance resource materials for quality and accuracy
• Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator
• Required to attend scheduled shift during regular business hours as mandated

Requirements:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:
? Bachelor?s degree with major coursework in public or business administration or other appropriate field
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:
? Valid Georgia driver's license and availability of private transportation
WORK EXPERIENCE:
? 3 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, budgeting or a finance related field required
? Experience working in a school-based financial management role preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
� Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
� Strong analytical and problem solving skills
� Sound knowledge and understanding of the principles and best practices of budget management
� Understanding and familiarity with federal, state and local laws, regulations and guidelines governing the budget process
� Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, including consistent application of correct grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary
� Dependable, able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
� Excellent planning and organizational skills and the ability to balance and prioritize competing tasks
� Able to collaborate effectively with diverse groups of people
� Must be able to travel regularly between the district offices and school sites

Compensation:
GRADE: 129
WORK DAYS: Annual
SALARY RANGE: $59, 771 - $85, 661
