The School District of New Berlin is a dynamic district dedicated to academic excellence. We are located in southeastern Wisconsin in Waukesha County approximately 20 miles from downtown Milwaukee. We currently serve approximately 4750 students with 4 elementary (K-6) schools and 2 middle/high (7-12) schools. Our schools are staffed by highly qualified, talented employees. Each building is supported by Learning Coaches. The two 7-12 schools are also supported by Content Specialists. Our mission is to empower, inspire and support students in acquiring the knowledge, skills and dispositions to establish goals for their future and develop plans to achieve them. The School District of New Berlin is seeking a long-term sub for a K-6 physical education educator beginning in November and ending in February. Must have a Wisconsin DPI physical education license for K-6.
Demonstrate consistent proficiency in components assigned under:
Domain 1: Planning and Preparation
Domain 2: Classroom Environment
Domain 3: Instruction
Domain 4: Professional Responsibilities

Including, but not limited to:
• Knowledge of Wisconsin State Standards for physical education
• Create a safe learning environment while monitoring safety of all students during instruction, exploration and skill development
• Evaluate pupils' physical and social growth, keeping appropriate records in a timely fashion in order to prepare rubrics, checklists of skills, fitness assessments and progress reports
• Develop lesson plans and instructional materials to provide individualized and small group instruction by adapting the district-approved curriculum to the needs of each pupil
• Establish and maintain rapport with pupils to ensure an effective learning atmosphere
• Identify pupil needs and make appropriate referrals; develop strategies for individual education plans as needed
• Effectively communicate with parents in various ways (i.e. website, newsletters, phone calls, e-mails, conferences)
• Work in a supportive and collaborative manner with colleagues and supervisors
• Maintain and improve professional skills by participating in building and department meetings, formal coursework, workshops, and seminars in an effort to stay current with best teaching practices
• Integrate technology and student learning styles into instruction
