The Assistant Principal is directly responsible to the building Principal. The specific job responsibilities will be determined by the Principal taking into consideration the other assignments the Assistant Principal may have.

• Assists the Principal in the overall administration of the schoolServes as designated Principal in the absence of the PrincipalPlans and supervises safety inspections, building security, fire and severe weather drillsCoordinates custodial and maintenance services, and student groups as requested in advancing educational and related activities and objectivesAssists in the supervision and evaluation of selected staff scheduling functions as the Principal may direct. This includes calendar, grade reporting, lockers, etAssists building staff in resolving student behavior problemsAttends expulsion hearings and court proceedings i.e. initial screenings, case conferences, student staffing's and Section 504 referrals Supervises extra-curricular and co-curricular activitiesAssists in leading Professional Learning CommitteesOther duties as assigned by the building Principal

The Metropolitan School District of Washington Township (MSDWT) is located in the northern section of Indianapolis in the State of Indiana, Marion County.
