HIRING SALARY RANGE: $28,290 - $33,948
POSITION SALARY RANGE: $28,290 - $58,650
Position Title: K-5 Bilingual Interventionist
Location: Eagle Valley Elementary
Reports to: Principal
Summary: Responsible for push-in and pull out support in both English and Spanish instruction. Design and implement specific strategies designed to promote intellectual, social, and physical growth in all identified intervention students. Evaluate and measure the effectiveness of specific RtI strategies and interventions in order to refine Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 levels of support. Supports the instructional programs with regular education students.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Use data to help teachers identify and group children who need additional supports
- Provide push-in and pull out reading intervention support
- Employ a variety of instructional techniques, instructional media, and performance assessments, which guide the learning process towards academic growth and achievement
- Establish clear learning targets for all lessons
- Assess the accomplishments of students in a variety of ways on a regular basis and provide progress reports
- Support teachers in documenting children's progress
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Bilingual strongly preferred - will consider English only interventionist with high skill level
- Active teacher authorization or license issued by the State of Colorado.
- Must be "Highly Qualified" according to the Colorado's definition of a "Highly Qualified" teacher under the No Child Left Behind Act (effective January 1, 2004 for current teachers and 2002-03 for newly hired teachers).
- Endorsement in the area(s) of teaching assignment preferred.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
