NOTICE OF POSITION
POSITION : The Superintendent of Schools, Kriner Cash, Ed.D., is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of:
FULL TIME TEACHER/COORDINATOR ~ HOSPITAL INSTRUCTION PROGRAM

QUALIFICATIONS : Candidates must hold New York State K-12 certification in Special Education and be currently employed as a tenured teacher in the Buffalo Public Schools. It is required that candidates must attach a PDF or a screen shot of their certifications. Candidates with multiple certificates strongly preferred.
DUTIES : The Buffalo Public Schools (BPS) New Education Bargain with Student and Parents focuses on providing students and parents with a pathway to opportunity that will lead to achievement and success. Services for our Neediest Children and Families serves as one of the focus areas of the district in executing its commitment to students and parents. Under the direction of the Project Administrator II (Alternative Instruction), the Teacher/Coordinator will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:
APPOINTMENT : Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent following assessment of training, experience, credentials and evaluation of service. Personal interviews shall be scheduled where appropriate.
FUND # : Pending Funding
SALARY : Teacher salary schedule.

- Liaise with school, parents, hospital staff to deliver appropriate instructional services to hospital bound students during the school day.
- Coordinate and deliver instructional services for hospital bound students that may be out-of-district residents at the direction of the District.
- Assess and evaluate academic and developmental needs of hospital bound students and provide instruction accordingly.
- Provide continuity to the instructional program until student transition from the hospital and return to traditional instruction.
- Provide school personnel with information on student's academic progress and health status to facilitate continuity when the student returns to school.
