The Paraprofessional works in schools under the guidance of certified teachers assisting with instructional and administrative tasks. Typical activities for the Paraprofessional include some or all of the following: assisting in live instruction, sending communication about attendance, entering scores and grades in Gradebook system, updating and maintaining AZVA platforms, and performing clerical work.
AS a Special Education Paraprofessional, YOU WILL ...
  • Assist with live instructional sessions;
  • Add, remove, and manage student and teacher accounts in Mclass DIBELS system;
  • Send daily missing attendance emails for all special education teachers;
  • Enter all grades for students of special education teachers in Gradebook system;
  • Monitor and pull grades from Spelling
    City platform;
  • Collect and send present level information for special education teachers;
  • Maintain, update, and enter data into the special education One Note;
  • Modify OLS plans and expected settings for special education students;
  • EntersEnd of Year Notes in TotalView.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.

Are you driven by excellence to deliver instruction, support and guidance, manage the learning process, and focus on students' individual needs? If selected, you will participate in a comprehensive new teacher training program for three weeks before the start of school. It is an opportunity to meet colleagues and learn the responsibilities required for delivering curriculum in an online environment. During this training you will also learn how to monitor student progress through K12's learning management system, and to be a partner actively working with students and parents to advance each child's learning.
Requirements
Minimum required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent AND
  • Two (2) years of study at an institution of higher education OR
  • Associate's degree OR
  • Pass a formal State or local academic assessment verifying mastery of rigorous quality standards

Certificates and Licenses: None required.
OTHER REQUIRED qualifications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Web proficiency.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness and ability to promote and facilitate a positive school environment by making students accountable in following all school and classroom rules and policies
  • Strong collaboration and problem-solving abilities
  • High degree of reliability
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time for testing, professional development, meetings
  • Possess a valid fingerprint clearance card
  • Ability to pass required background check
