Position Purpose
Under the general supervision of the School Principal, to serve as a remedial resource instructor to improve students' achievement in reading.
Essential Functions
Additional Duties
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

Equipment
Uses standard office equipment such as personal computers, printer, copy and fax machines, and telephone.
Travel Requirements
Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities
Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiated instruction based upon student learning styles.
Knowledge of English grammar, word usage, word denotations and connotations, spelling, writing, and mathematics.
Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans.
Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed.
Ability to organize and coordinate work.
Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.
Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards
Works in standard office and school building environments.

Qualifications Profile
Certification/License :
Connecticut State Certification 102 and/or 097 required
Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation.
Education :
Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
Master's Degree preferred.
Experience :
Successful prior teaching experience at the high school level preferred.

Position Purpose
Under the general supervision of the School Principal, to serve as a remedial resource instructor to improve students' achievement in reading.
Essential Functions
- Plan and implement Tier III reading instruction
Administer diagnostic reading assessments and analyze the results
Create evaluation instruments and procedures to monitor the student progress and the effectiveness of instruction
Document teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; develops lesson plans; model the necessary skills to perform assignments; and provide feedback to administration and teaching staff regarding student progress, expectations, and goals and objectives
Create and instruct individuals and small groups based on data
Collaborate with other Reading teachers and the Reading Coordinator in program design, implementation and assessment
Provide push-in reading act support in a literacy coach capacity, upon request
Effective organizational and communication skills
Creation of a safe and productive learning environment
Implement effective parental communication to support students' education
