    Qualifications: *Current Kansas Teaching Certificate with endorsement appropriate to the assignment on file in the Devin Center
    *Health certificate on file in Devin Center
    *Highly Qualified according to state of Kansas requirements

    Supervises: Students

    BASIC FUNCTION/PURPOSE

    To provide instruction in the Social Science Curriculum in the HD Karns Academy Program. To help 8 th grade students develop the skills needed to complete the classes assigned to be successful in high school, graduate, and to enter post-secondary education and/or the workforce. The teacher will provide support, both academic and interpersonal, to students. The teacher will be a mentor and a resource manager.

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
    1. Be on time to work; regular attendance is an essential function of your job.
    2. Submit required reports in a timely manner, participate in staff, department, committee, and team meetings.
    3. Obtain instructional resources and materials through processes outlined by the Principal and/or the department of Teaching & Learning.
    4. Keep informed regarding new technologies and research-based teaching practices that facilitate and support student learning.
    5. Support the vision and mission of the HD Karns Innovations Academy Program; and work to develop and sustain the climate and culture of the program.
    6. Participate as a team member with the both licensed and non-licensed staff in a comprehensive evaluation, review, and re-evaluation process.
    7. Communicate clearly and accurately with administrators, staff, parents, students and support agencies.
    8. Be an active member of the professional learning community: student, committee meetings, as well as assist in early recognition and prevention of educational problems.
    9. Respect the confidentiality of records and information regarding students, parents, and teachers in accordance with accepted professional ethics, and state, and federal laws.
    10. Attend/assist with school events; supervise students in all activities related to classroom and student publications
    11. Strive to communicate the positive aspects of our school program to the public in word and deed.
    12. Uphold and enforce Board policies, administrative procedures, school rules, and federal and state regulations including but not limited to:Consolidated Plan for Federal Programs
      Acceptable use of technology
      Sexual and racial harassment
      Child abuse reporting
    13. Perform other duties assigned by the principal or other building or district administrators.

      Term of Employment: Teacher Contract

      Salary Range: Determined by placement on teacher salary schedule.

      Evaluation Frequency: Job performance will be evaluated in accordance with state regulations and the terms established in the negotiated agreement.
