POSITION SUMMARY:
The Project Manager II for the Engagement Division oversees the management of multiple complex projects and events within the Engagement Division. Ensures that all projects utilize best practices as defined by the Atlanta Public Schools.
This position reports to the Chief Engagement Officer.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
?? Coordinates all related activities associated with the management of the planning, programming, design and development of multiple projects across the Chief Engagement division. Organizes, prepares, and maintains program management documentation and all project management and process improvement records for the division. Leads and supports the use of standard project management tools and best practice within the Engagement division.
?? Monitors progress of projects by reviewing design documents, work-in-progress, and recommend adjustments to project plans as needed. Communicates project status, changes, needs, etc. in a timely and effective manner to appropriate audiences and to the Chief Engagement Officer.

?? Completes project charters and projects for the execution of all project phases. Administers all aspects of the project charters through project completion and close out.

?? Interfaces with leadership throughout the division and across the district to ensure projects and events are executed with excellence.

?? Serves as thought partner for Engagement teams and departments on new or changing operational processes. Identifies process and procedure changes that ensure or improve project success.

?? Maintains the work plans and calendar for each department within the division.

?? Supports other division team members in the use of PM tools and serves as a thought partner for problem solving.

?? Develops and prepares correspondence, status reports, presentations, spreadsheets, or other program-related information. Edits written/printed communication content for accuracy, formatting, and audience relevancy.

?? Attends and facilitates planning meetings. Provides planning meeting agenda, materials, minutes and/or follow-up action items to all participants. Prepares and delivers presentations regarding program status to key stakeholders.

?? Oversees quality assurance activities to ensure project deliverables meet and/or exceed established standards.

??Performs all other duties as assigned by the Deputy Superintendent.

Requirements: EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Master's degree preferred.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:
  • PMP Certification preferred.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
  • A minimum of five years relevant experience leading projects in a K-12 district or higher education environment. Excellent time management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
?? Strong working knowledge of K-12 central office functions.
?? Analytical, critical thinking and the ability to facilitate collaborative decision-making required.

?? Must be able to manage large complex projects.

?? Model collaborative competencies including conflict management, effective communication and the intentional use of strengths to move projects forward.
?? Highly proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite.

Compensation: Salary Grade: 132
Salary Range: $72, 337 to $99, 195
Work Days: Annual

FLSA Status: Exempt
