Salary Plan, Grade, Step: JCE - Professional - 185 days, GR1, 1
Min-Mid Annual Salary Range: $40,989 - $57,654

RESPONSIBILITIES

Work Year: 185 + 15 days
Reports To: Director, ESL/Dual Language
SUMMARY: To assist in the coordination of Translation and Interpretation Services across the district. Coordinator will work with ESL/Dual Language administrators to build upon existing district structures and systems for fulfilling requests for translation and translation services. The Translation and Interpretation Services team will develop professional learning to ensure clear and accurate communication among families, students and staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Ensure effective communication to meet the needs of multilingual students and families through the use of translation and interpretation services
  • Interact in a positive and professional manner with a variety of stakeholders
  • Problem-solve issues
  • Analyse data and use to improve services for multilingual families
  • Develop professional learning for department, district and school staff
  • Create and/or revise professional learning materials and resources
  • Mentor and train new staff
  • Create and/or revise training resources
  • Co-Lead meetings with classified staff
  • Understand laws and policies related to communication with families (federal, state)
  • Collaborate with departments, school staff, translation agencies, etc.
QUALIFICATION:
Current Colorado teaching license with an endorsement in English as a Second Language (ESL), Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CLDE), or a World Language (i.e., Spanish).
Bilingual Preferred (Spanish)
EXPERIENCE:
Experience with utilizing translation and interpretation services; in leadership roles; working with multilingual students in a classroom setting; working with multilingual families; working with a variety of school and department staff; collaborating with key stakeholders.
