SUBSTITUTE TEACHER

JOB DESCRIPTION

SUMMARY: Report directly to the AESOP Substitute/Leave Coordinator and building

administrator(s). To provide temporary support for classroom teachers in case of teacher absence, in order to ensure continuity of instruction for students.

Substitute rates:

$15.00/hour for a day to day substitute teacher

$17.86/hour for long term substitutes beginning on day eleven

$21.43/hour for long term substitutes beginning on day twenty one

These rates will become effective on 01-07-19

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supervise areas of specific responsibilities as they relate to the classroom

or program setting.

• Follow established classroom routines as outlined by building principal and /or teacher lesson plans.
• Follow lesson plans provided by the teacher.
• Make every effort to continue the instructional program.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able

to perform each of the above noted essential duties satisfactorily. The

requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability

• Minimum of a 60 college credit hours in core subject area
• Must have a Missouri Teacher or Substitute Teaching Certificate
