S tudent Services Coordinator

Starting Pay Rate: $19.86

Position Objectives:

The Student Services Coordinator performs duties involving the interpretation and evaluation of student services information for students, the general public, and College staff. The areas include, but are not limited to: admissions, advising, assessment and testing, career services, financial aid, graduation services, new student orientation, registration, student self-service stations, veteran's services and the welcome desk

Essential Functions:
  • Providing full range of student services to student and the general public by resolving student services complaints and concerns, and responding to a variety of general inquiries and requests for information and assistance in person, online or by telephone.
  • Advising students on policies, procedures, and processes pertaining to multiple functional areas, as well as targeted academic programs or student populations, which include but are not limited to: academic advising, admissions/selective admissions, assessment/testing; career services, financial aid I/II; graduation services; new student orientation; registration; retention of developmental education students, self-service stations and veterans services;
  • Schedule student appointments for assessment and explain purpose of assessment, guidelines, and testing procedures to students
  • Administer and proctor testing, enrollment, special admission, academic course and other testing needs.
  • Print assessment scores for enrollment testing and accurately refer students to the Registration Area to meet with an advisor to review results
  • Troubleshoot, document and communicate technical difficulties related to electronic testing and assist students with regaining access to tests if necessary Stay current with College's Testing/GED Policies and Processes.
  • Follow all GED Testing Processes and Procedures, score GED Test. And appropriately communicate academic integrity violations according to testing policies.
  • Input test scores into the school's Student Information System Appropriately manage testing accommodations required for students with disabilities
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of student tests by following FERPA regulations, carefully monitoring student records at the workstation for security, and properly storing all student records Implementing department operational procedures and processes in coordination with the Student Services and other EGTC colleges and departments.
  • Training and assisting students to navigate the student portal and online student services processes.
  • Interpreting complex information, making evaluative determinations and recommendations regarding services, programs, and procedures to students, College employees and the public.
  • Conducting student transactions and maintaining and updating student academic records utilizing the College information system.

Education & Experience:
  • Minimum of Associates degree and two years' experience in student services; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
