Position Summary:
Provides health services that assist each student in achieving and/or maintaining optimal health through education, examinations and guidance. Provides skilled nursing care and first aid to students, faculty and staff, and counsels parents and students.

Essential Duties:

1. Serve in the capacity of cluster nurse with responsibilities to include but, are not limited to completing performance evaluations, corrective discipline, trainings, preceptorship and other relevant duties as assigned
2. Identifies, monitors, and manages students with chronic disease and disabilities. Documents services provided in accordance with orders and care plan.
3. Provides emergency crisis nursing care for physically and/or psychologically ill and injured students and staff in the school.
4. Maintains communicable disease prevention and control through education, policy and enforcement.
5. Conducts physical health care assessments and screenings, including vision, hearing, dental, scoliosis and nutritional assessments.
6. Provides counseling and guidance to students, parents and staff regarding health-related attendance problems.
7. Maintains thorough and comprehensive health-related reports, monthly reports, and emergency reports, and ensures compliance with policies and regulations.
8. Provides health education for use by students, families, and school personnel on subjects such as (but not limited to) growth and development, home nursing instruction and first aid.
9. Attend or provide consult support for 504 and IEP meetings at assigned schools as needed to provide medical expertise.
10. Maintains required certifications and licenses.
11. Ability to supervise school based Licensed Practical Nurses and provide leadership support as required.
12. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements: Education:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree from an accredited School of Nursing.

Work Experience:
Experience as a School Nurse preferred.

Certifications/Licenses:
Unrestricted Registered Nurse Licensed in the State of Georgia; CPR Certification.

Compensation: Salary Grade: 130
Salary Range: $50, 306 - $72, 098
