Position Summary:
The System Analyst for Student Information is responsible for the design, implementation, operation, and maintenance of the student information data systems and/or networks at the District level with an emphasis on application systems integration, reporting, and utilizing relational database utilities. The incumbent in this position will be responsible for the day to day operations and performance of the Student Information System. The role will be integral in ensuring a high level of responsiveness to school and district staff for day to day support.

Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field required, or equivalent experience (2 years of similar work level experience = 1 year of college); A combination of experience and education may be used to meet the Bachelor's Degree requirement

Salary Range for 2019-2020
Step placement credit may be granted for up to a maximum of 8 years (Step 9) of prior verifiable experience. Salary placement with Fulton County Schools is non-negotiable. Actual salary placement will be based on Fulton County Board of Education experience calculations from the Non-Teaching Salary Schedule B-235, Executive Scale, Step 1 - Step 9.

The System Analyst for Student Information is responsible for the design, implementation, operation, and maintenance of the student information data systems and/or networks at the District level with an emphasis on application systems integration, reporting, and utilizing relational database utilities. The incumbent in this position will be responsible for the day to day operations and performance of the Student Information System. The role will be integral in ensuring a high level of responsiveness to school and district staff for day to day support.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides the highest level of technical support for both District and school-based Student Information System usersReviews, analyzes, and recommends new and enhanced systems and/or networking capabilitiesImplements, operates, and maintains student data systems applications and networksWorks with data integration services to multiple applications and relational databasesProvides data reporting to all levels of Fulton County School System's administration, state, and federal agencies for FTE, Student Record, CPI (Classified/Certified Personnel Information Report), Civil Rights, AYP, NCLB, and other requirements as appropriateProvides implementation, support, and services for student data collection, required reporting, and data analysisWrites and implements files/databases/systems for departments to facilitate planning and decision-makingProtects integrity of information for accurate statistical and informational dataMaintains development environment with data configuration and application changesAssists with New Year and Final rollover procedures, application of patches and version upgrades at the District and school levelsMaintains the archival of all student reports and reporting documentation as assignedMaintains required security measures on all systems and networksProvides input and assists in developing efficient departmental operating proceduresMeets regularly with assigned staff to identify departmental needs and prioritize projectsTakes on and manages projects from start to finishMaintains current knowledge of the latest technology in computer applications, i.e., hardware and software developmentsPerforms other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator
Education and Experience
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field required, or equivalent experience (2 years of similar work level experience = 1 year of college); A combination of experience and education may be used to meet the Bachelor's Degree requirement
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with relational database reporting and integration requiredExperience in a support role for K-12 Student Information Systems required;\\Experience using Microsoft SQL requiredExperience with cloud-based applications preferred
Minimum Qualifications:
- Familiarity with State and local Board rules and regulationsAbility to identify and troubleshoot student information issues while working with departmental personnelWorking knowledge of current versions of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft OfficeConceptual thinking, design, implementation, and troubleshooting of database and application technologyDemonstrated experience in training to internal and external stakeholdersExcellent organization and leadership skillsExcellent interpersonal skillsExcellent communication skills both written and verbal
Salary Information:

- $68,818 - $81,219
