Job Description Long Term Substitute Special Educator (November 11, 2019-February 17, 2020):

Benefit eligible during this time.

Rutland Intermediate School is looking for a dedicated and hard-working member to add to their special education team. This person will work with students with a wide range of learning, emotional, and physical disabilities in grades three through six.

This individual will be knowledgeable about special education law, have the ability to develop and write individualized educational programs (IEPs) specific to each student's needs, create and implement small group lessons for Reading, Writing, and Math at a variety of levels. This person will collaborate with other special educators, paraeducators, general education teachers, interventionists, and administrators. Applicant will be able to effectively communicate with team members, including parents

Applicant will have knowledge of MTSS, PBIS, trauma-based learning, responsive classroom, and restorative practices. The candidate must hold or be eligible to receive certification to teach in Vermont as a Special Educator. Master's Degree preferred.
