Summary and Overview

In 2015, the MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and Springfield Public Schools partnered to form the Springfield Empowerment Zone Partnership (SEZP). SEZP is committed to ensuring that the middle and high schools in "The Zone" are engaging environments where teachers receive the supports they need to grow professionally, and students have the opportunity to acquire the academic and personal skills to succeed in the college or career of their choice.

Each SEZP school has the autonomy to craft and implement its own, unique vision for success and receives support from an ecosystem of national-caliber partners. Literacy is a huge lever for success in not only school but beyond. As a result, Impact has created a schedule to allow students to ALL benefit from reading interventions. This ELA coaching position will work with the leadership team to ensure all students literacy levels are increasing! Please see below for the components of the job.

Duties:

Coaches and supports teachers in planning, delivering, and assessing quality instruction for ELA all grades

Plans, models, and co-teaches effective lessons with teachers in a ELA co-teaching model ---Regularly visits classroom to provide non-evaluative feedback to teachers to improve instructional planning, delivery, and assessment with a focus on how to best support the successful language acquisition of ELLs in the school

Facilitates the ELA PLCs

Provides leadership and support in the development, implementation, and creation of the ELA curriculum

Ensures that LLI is used with fidelity within all ELA classrooms

Analyzes MAP and other assessment data to identify areas for improvement, establish goals, and monitor improvement.

Develops and conducts professional developments for teachers and administrators regarding instructional strategies and best practices literacy

Completes any other tasks as assigned by the principal or other members of administration as needed.

Qualifications:

Teacher Certification in ELA

Has taught more than 3+ years

Currently an Impact Prep Employee
