Additional Job Information: PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Demonstrate leadership in providing a positive and productive environment for students and staff; place high priority on needs and welfare of students in the context of preparing them for success beyond high school
2. Assume responsibility for student conduct and discipline
3. Assist the principal in the collection, analysis and use of data to improve all aspects of the high school, including instructional and building management issues
4. Promote sound/effective educational practices that are supported by research; exhibit openness to new

5. Effectively involve staff, parents, students and community members in decision-making
6. Be visible/active by regularly visiting classrooms and attending before/after school events, evenings and weekends
7. Direct, or otherwise participate in, a shared-decision making hiring process that consistently recommends the employment of candidates who are highly skilled, service-oriented, and student-centered
8. With the principal, develop and implement efficient and effective plans in the following areas:
a. school budget and finance
b. instructional and support staffing
c. guidance and master scheduling
d. exam scheduling, proctoring, scanning schedules
e. staff development and evaluation
f. student conduct/discipline
g. opening/closing school
h. student activities and events-co/extra curricular
i. use of technology to improve/support instruction, communications and administration
j. instruction and assessment
k. building safety team
l. student attendance
m. Character Council, PBIS, RTI, APPR, IST
n. BEDS coordination
o. building maintenance
9. Actively participate in District-wide activities pertaining to a variety of issues including instructional and organizational development
10. Work collegially and collaboratively with the District and building leadership teams
11. Coordinates principal?s responsibilities in the principal?s absence
12. Coordinate components of the schools? Instructional Support Team to monitor students and create appropriate academic and behavioral plans
13. Assist the Director of Athletics on managing student conduct and monitoring eligibility for athletics and extra-curricular activities
14. Attend CSE meetings, 504 meetings, manifestation determination, Superintendent?s Hearings or other parent meetings when necessary to advocate for students under the guidance of school district policy and New York State Law
15. Others as may be assigned by the principal
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid New York State SAS, SDA, SBL, or SDL Certificate
- Master's Degree with emphasis on
- educational leadership and instruction.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in
- education, including teaching and leadership roles.
