Qualifications:
Master's degree in educational testing, measurement, statistics or related field, plus five years of progressively more responsible experience developing assessment tools and conducting reliability and validity studies. Doctorate degree preferred. Teaching experience helpful, but not required. Good knowledge of current psychometric procedures and practices, including classical and item response theory. Good knowledge of the methodology, principles, and practices of instructional test analyses and interpretations. Good knowledge of Fairfax County Public Schools. Organization and goals; ability to use statistical software programs; ability to work independently or cooperatively as part of a team or as a team lead; ability to design and explain long-term projects, concepts, or issues to individuals, including highly technical personnel and school administrators; proficiency in the utilization of computer technology as a tool for test development and analysis; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; and ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with school personnel and other administrators.
