    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
    *A Bachelor's Degree in any discipline of business OR a valid Colorado teacher or alternative teacher license in any secondary
    (7-12) endorsement area. (Note to alternative candidates: If you do not successfully complete the alternative program and
    obtain an initial teacher license, this CTE authorization will be expired as of the date you discontinue the program.)
    *Content Knowledge (applicant must have either A or B):
    A. 24 semester hours of related postsecondary coursework from a regionally accredited institution verified on an official
    transcript with a minimum of three semester hours of coursework in four of the areas listed on the table below.
    OR
    B. Passing score on either the PLACE 34 or the PRAXIS 5101 business exam.
    *Occupational Experience (applicant must have either A or B) Credit for student teaching (up to 800 hours) in the content area
    may be applied to either occupational or teaching experience:
    • 2,000 hours of verified occupational experience in the content area within the last seven years
    OR
    • 3 years full-time, licensed teaching experience in the content area within the last seven years (full-time is defined as 51% or
    more of a teaching schedule dedicated to teaching in the content area).
    *Candidates with endorsements in CLDE, Bilingual Ed, Foreign Language, and/or sheltered content or other English Language instructional training desired
    *Be up to date on current learning theory and state of the art pedagogy in teaching
    *Demonstrate effective interpersonal relationships with students, staff members, parents and administrators
    *Has knowledge and experience of and/or willingness to gain knowledge of Competency-based Education approaches
    *Must be able to read, write, and comprehend English
    *Bilingual desired
    *Experience and/or skills working with culturally diverse populations desired

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
    *Display a thorough knowledge of the subject matter and the District's prescribed curriculum.
    *Plan instruction consistent with the District's curriculum for assigned subject areas/grade levels.
    *Plan for student differences and adjust instruction to meet student needs.
    *Implement continuous system of evaluations and provide students with specific feedback.
    *Serve as facilitator and coordinator of learning.
    *Establish an effective system for classroom discipline per Board Policy and building regulations.
    *Organize students for effective instruction to maximize the learning time for all students.
    *Fulfill contractual and professional responsibilities.
    *Submit required student record reports.
