Role Mission:

The Facilities and Construction Coordinator will be responsible for providing assistance in maintaining an efficient and cost-effective operation in facilities, grounds, and equipment of the district to ensure students, staff, and the community are assured of a clean, safe, and healthy learning and working environment.

Specifically, the Facilities Coordinator is responsible for achieving operational excellence at every school, with a specific emphasis in the following areas: quality, safety, and asset management. Additionally, the Facilities Coordinator leads organizational efforts in play scape and campus furniture installation.

Accountabilities:

1. 100% of campuses execute 100% of required safety drills with 100% achieving the 10 minute target
  • Utilize established operating mechanisms such as weekly tactical and monthly trainings to work with Assistant Principals of Operations and Facilities Managers by providing support on best practices
  • Manage the safety drill completion tracker to gauge campus performance and partner with campus leaders and facility managers to develop schedules and strategies to meet the goal for safety drills

2. Supports Campuses Achieve Quality and Safety Excellence in Facilities
  • Tracks campus performance and partner with Regional Director of Facilities to develop trainings around the quality and safety audit rubrics for campus leaders and Facility Managers to meet quality and safety excellence
  • Supports the facilities team at each campus to achieve the highest standard in quality and safety by enforcing the policies that establish culture of quality and safety with students, staff and parents

3. 100% of Campus Furniture is installed Two Weeks Before School
  • Tracks campus furniture orders and partners with the district's furniture vendor to ensure campuses receive their complete furniture order and on time
  • Partners with the school launch team in managing the district's furniture vendor to ensure campuses receive their complete furniture order and the furniture is installed on time.
  • Facilitates check ins with the Facility Manager and the business office to ensure orders are processed in a timely manner and ensures service availability and business relationships are not jeopardized.

4. 100% of Campus Playgrounds are ordered and installed 1 week before the first day of school
  • Coordinates meetings with the district's playground vendor and develops the playground catalog for new campuses.
  • Under the direction of the Facilities Operation Manager, coordinates the ordering, receiving and installation of the campus playground equipment
  • Facilitates check ins with the business office to ensure orders are processed in a timely manner and ensures service availability and business relationships are not jeopardized.

5. Ensures 100% of schools are fully operational by the first day of school
  • 100% of new FMs have access and are trained on entering requisitions by the second week of July.
  • 100% of FMs have a Safety Drill plan in place to ensure all 15 safety drills are completed per school year by FDOS.
  • 100% of new FMs are trained on conducting the Safety and Security Audit.
  • 100% of campuses have all furniture delivered and installed by FDOS.
  • 100% of new campuses have utilities set up. (Water, Electricity, Garbage)
  • 100% of custodians have new uniforms issued during Summer PD training sessions.
  • 100% of FM monthly meetings scheduled by FDOS.
  • 100% of FMs with elevators knows where the keys are.
  • 100% of new FMs and custodians know how to enter (custodians only) and approve a timesheet (FMs only).
  • 100% of FMs and custodians have access to SafeSchools .

6. 100% task completion of organizational, operational, logistical, and creative assignments
  • Planning and execution for trainings for district and school leaders
  • Communicating effectively with district and school leaders and staff
  • Coordinating logistics
  • Analyzing data and feedback, reporting as needed
  • Organizing digital copies of workshop materials
  • Administrative support (reception, copies, document management)
  • Mail/Parcels receiving and distribution

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience: 1-2 years professional experience, preferably in facilities and construction


Competencies:
  • Must be reliable, punctual have a strong drive to do whatever it takes
  • Must have solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be open to observation and feedback
  • Able to work independently when needed
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
  • The ability to motivate, delegate, and lead a diverse team to accomplish goals.
  • Computer literacy; can use Microsoft Office software.
  • Strong mathematical skills with ability to understand and interpret data (charts, graphs, etc.) .
  • Can follow verbal and written instructions/guidance.


Compensation:
  • Salaries for this role typically fall between $36,800 and $43,300, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications.
