The nationally acclaimed Doral Academy Charter School announces a Principal opening for its new school in Ann Arbor Michigan. Doral Ann Arbor will open in August of 2020 as a K-2 with 375 students and subsequently grow one grade each year until it reaches a K-8 with 1125 students. The school will be located in a brand-new building just miles from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.

Doral Academy of Ann Arbor will provide quality instruction, high expectations and a standard-based curriculum with a focus on STEM. The school aims to prepare students for high academic performance, stimulate their lifelong love of math and science and create new pathways for them to pursue academic and professional careers in the fields of math, science, engineering and technology.

The school Principal will work under the direction of the Doral Academy Board of Directors of Ann Arbor and in conjunction with Doral Schools of Florida.

School leader qualifications:
  • Earned master’s Degree (or higher) from an accredited college or university
  • Become certified as a School Administrator in Michigan
  • Three years of administrative experience as a Principal, Assistant Principal or Lead Teacher
  • Strong managerial capabilities
  • Positive evaluations from previous position
  • Knowledge of the needs of the student population served by the School
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated capacity to meet and or exceed the Michigan Principal Leadership Standards
  • Compete pre-screening interview with Carlos Ferralls, Doral Academy Head of Schools and Douglas Rodriguez, President Doral College and final interview with Doral Academy Board of Directors Ann Arbor

Expected hire date:

August 1, 2019 (approximately one year from opening but negotiable)

Salary:

Highly competitive, including compensation for moving expenses
