The Family Engagement Coordinator & FAST Supervisor provides a range of school-wide services to new and returning students and their families to help set the right tone for their academic success in the program. The position works with other parent involvement and support roles and serves in various formal groups to provide critical training, facilitate academic engagement and promote effective communication practices between parents, teachers and support staff.   • Manages online strong start process for new Learning Coaches and students. :
    • Facilitate online strong start orientation sessions
    • Tracking student attendance, invitation and communication to student team for attendance at strong start orientation session attendance.
    • Noting completion of strong start components in TV
  • Oversees weekly office hours/help sessions to support new families
  • Serves as a liaison between family and teachers to ensure that all school personnel understand how to contact and communicate with family in a manner that builds ties between families and the school; facilitates professional development on effective family engagement practices for the school staff.
  • Develops and/or facilitates parent education programs and learning coach trainings in partnership with national programming to effectively support the academic achievement of students. Provides online parent enrichment trainings/development that helps improve academic goal-setting, e.g. portfolio sessions, learning style sessions, working with multiple children, technology skills, creating and maintaining a schedule, time management, getting back on track based on grade level specialties, test taking skills, etc.;
  • Develop and Maintains academic/enrichment resources (i.e. tutoring, community calendars, etc.) for the school's students and families;
  • Works with stakeholders (families, board members, admin, and school staff) to foster community involvement in school development (LC mentor program, PTO, parent volunteers).
  • Supports the State and local standardized testing processes and policies, with a focus on family engagement and volunteers
  • Works in collaboration with school leadership and national teams on re-registration activities and sessions for families.
  • Connection point of communication to families about all national programing that engage students in the greater K12 community
    • Marketing competitions (Art, Music, STEM, Poetry)
    • Student Clubs
    • Academic Student Competitions
  • Provide individualized attention and support to students and families identified for training gaps or requested networking within the school community through a case management tool used by the Family Academic Support Team
  • Expert on connecting families and students (resource to be consulted if needing structured best practices when holding online and face to face events that are school/district wide)
  • Facilitate live face to face opportunities for families to connect with the larger school community in partnership with other school teams (i.e. college visits, back to school events, book fairs).
  • Provide outreach, training, and support to families who respond to Satisfaction surveys and Students First Check In responses as it relates to family engagement to enhance the sense of community and belonging.
    Supervisory Responsibilities:Directly supervises 4 - 10 Full-time Equivalent (FTE) regular employees and/or contractor which could include the Family Academic Support Liaison (FASL), Family Resource Coordinator (FRC), Family Engagement Coordinator (FEC) or Compliance Liaison (CL). Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Are you driven by excellence to deliver instruction, support and guidance, manage the learning process, and focus on students' individual needs? If selected, you will participate in a comprehensive new teacher training program for three weeks before the start of school. It is an opportunity to meet colleagues and learn the responsibilities required for delivering curriculum in an online environment. During this training you will also learn how to monitor student progress through K12's learning management system, and to be a partner actively working with students and parents to advance each child's learning.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, Human Services or related field of study AND
  • Two (2) years of leadership experience working with families in a similar capa
    city, developing parent mentors/parent training, and/or facilitating community involvement OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

Certificates and Licenses: None required.
Other Required Qualifications
  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.); Web proficiency.
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time
  • Ability to pass required background check
Desired Qualifications
  • Three (3) years of leadership experience working with families in a similar capa
    city, developing parent mentors/parent training, and/or facilitating community involvement
  • Master's degree in Education, Counseling, Human Services or related field of study.

  • This is a home-based position with 1-3 days in the office per week as determined by the supervisor and business needs.
