The School Psychologist provides psychological evaluation services including, but not limited to, assessments, reports, providing related educational recommendations, consultation, therapy, and any other applicable educational services for students of the school.     ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Ensures all newly received documents (evaluation team reports, etc.) are compliant; Takes the necessary steps to ensure compliance when necessary; Ensures all existing documents are compliant following the guidelines set forth by the State ;
  • Serves as case manager for all evaluations, including ensuring that the full process occurs within State mandated time frames with appropriate communication between INDLS and parents, evaluators, teachers and any other parties.
  • Administers academic assessments to currently enrolled students per mandated time frames;
  • Leads evaluation team report meetings; Participates in the school's intervention assistance team;
  • Supervisory responsibilities: Related Services Coordinator will report to School Psychologist
  • Assists the Special Education Director in developing/leading/participating in professional development for the general education staff, special education staff, and parents of students in special education programs; Works closely with guidance counselors to provide training in various emotional health areas;
  • Keeps abreast of all changing legislative issues impacting special education eligibility.

  • Assists with the implementation of school, procedures and projects;
  • Serves on school committees; participates in professional development sessions;
  • Assists with national K12 efforts including participation in special projects and/or task-forces, developing policies and procedures and training.

Are you driven by excellence to deliver instruction, support and guidance, manage the learning process, and focus on students' individual needs? If selected, you will participate in a comprehensive new teacher training program for three weeks before the start of school. It is an opportunity to meet colleagues and learn the responsibilities required for delivering curriculum in an online environment. During this training you will also learn how to monitor student progress through K12's learning management system, and to be a partner actively working with students and parents to advance each child's learning.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree AND
  • One (1) year of experience as a school psychologist OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
    Certificates and Licenses: Current State certification/licensure in school psychology
Other Required Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel; Web proficiency
  • Ability to travel throughout the State including overnight up to 25% of the time in order to administer assessments, and outside of the State for professional development
  • Ability to pass required background check

  • This is a home-based position. However, travel is mandatory during some weeks of the year to attend mandatory face to face meetings and during testing sessions.
