CALUMET PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT 132

Position: Instructional Technology Director

Purpose:
The job of the Instructional Technology Director is planning, implementing, directing and maintaining the district's applications and use of technology within the instructional curriculum; evaluating and providing recommendations regarding classroom instruction with software applications and computer technology; and assisting administrators and teachers.

Essential Functions:
• Provides leadership for teachers by planning, collaborating, organizing, mentoring and facilitating change to improve the instructional technology program.

• Provides knowledge of appropriate standards, content, materials, and resources.

• Facilitates the use of research-based instructional technology teaching strategies and best practices to address the needs of teachers and school goals.

• Facilitates professional development related to instructional technology as needed

• Establishes, maintains and enhances effective communication with administrators, teachers, parents and other stakeholders.

• Demonstrates a commitment to professional growth and ethical standards to advance the mission, goals and policies of Calumet Public School District 132.

• Works with principals and teachers in organizing grade level department meetings in order to affect horizontal and vertical continuity and articulation of the instructional technology program throughout the school.

• Observes teachers in their classrooms and offers insights for the enhancement of instructional technology teaching-learning situations.

• Demonstrates appropriate use of instructional technology and other educational tools to enhance and extend instruction.

• Performs other duties related to the improvement of student achievement.

Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with experience and/or training in educational technology.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk and use fingers, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand and reach with hands and arms. Specific visual abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Occasionally the employee will lift up to 50 lbs. such as to lift files, paper, school supplies, books, etc.

Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the technology in the district.
