ABOUT THE SCHOOL/DEPARTMENT

Weber Elementary School, home of the Eagles, is a magnificent school with a strong sense of community that serves some 380 students, K-5, in the North Arvada area of Jefferson County. Our staff members are committed to meeting the unique needs of every child, including our students with severe needs in a center-based program, and we collectively take responsibility for educating all students, our students. We are, in fact, E.A.G.L.E.S.: Educators Affecting Growth and Learning for Every Student. Our talented, dedicated professionals stand poised, with a shared vision, to serve our beloved community in the name of student learning.

One of our main strategies for being able to help students succeed is our identity as a professional learning community, or PLC. As a PLC, we work in teams to accomplish numerous goals, including identifying and leveraging children's strengths, empowering students to be active participants in their education, tracking the progress of all pupils, and reflecting on our own practices to ensure that we are employing effective, research-based strategies to help all students thrive academically, physically, socially, and emotionally. With children at the center of all decisions, we operate interdependently to promote student achievement and to provide a safe and welcoming environment for all. We do, in fact, live out on a daily basis our school mission of creating possibilities, elevating community, and celebrating learning. Weber is special--a school that has a neighborhood feel while also preparing students for a world beyond their "neighborhood."
