POSITION OVERVIEW

Education Week & EdWeek Market Brief, the nation’s leading source for coverage and analysis of the K-12 education market, seek an Account Executive (AE) to drive sales of enterprise-wide subscriptions for our digital content, research and information services.

The AE will be a key contributor to one of EdWeek’s fastest growing business and will play a critical role in our organization’s growth over the coming years.  They will sell enterprise subscriptions of EdWeek’s core products (edweek.org and EdWeek Market Brief) to a defined territory of prospects from our primary customer segments: K-12 school districts; colleges/universities, and companies/organizations serving the K-12 market.  

This is a hunter role that offers ownership of the entire sales process.  Candidates must be able to break through to, navigate, nurture, and close buying teams with multiple stakeholders.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years in a consultative, hunter B2B sales role (SDRs/BDRs may be considered), with history of hitting targets.
  • Experience selling enterprise/group subscription or membership-based services, information services, research, and/or other content.
  • Experience selling to companies, K-12 school districts, or colleges/universities, or, a demonstrated ability to learn about and sell into niche markets
  • Excellent pre-call preparation and discovery skills.  Must be able to uncover customer pain and respond to challenges with ideas and solutions that move the opportunity forward and build a foundation for long-term customer relationships.
  • Relentless persistence and ability to break through to hard-to-reach prospects
  • Strong prospecting and appointment setting (email, social, phone) skills
  • Excellent pipeline management and forecasting
  • Demonstrated history of meeting KPIs/goals.  Ability to thrive in a culture of accountability. 
  • Commitment to continuous self-improvement.  Must be open to coaching and willing to learn and adapt.
  • Team player with good listening, oral and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
