Job Description
JOB TITLE: Graduation Coach
FLSA: Exempt
190 Days
Salary: $35,887.32 - $77,278.13
DUTIES
The High School Graduation Coach will provide assistance to all high school students, individually and in groups, regarding high school graduation and completion, including but not limited to analyzing data to identify students or subgroups with potential high school graduation problems; planning, implementing, and tracking individual high school graduation plans; identifying and resolving barriers to graduation; and facilitating career choices and planning.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Teaches students appropriate workplace social skills and emphasizes the importance of workplace ethics. Assists students in developing the skills and attitudes necessary to obtain paid employment.
Works with vocational and academic teachers to help integrate vocational and academic skills in the curricula.
Communicates with business leaders to increase awareness of the employment potential of students.
Coordinates and manages special programs or projects as assigned.
Prepares and monitors program budget and grants; purchases supplies and equipment as needed.
Uses a computer to record and retrieve department information and to prepare reports and correspondence.
Keeps abreast of developments and innovations in the profession.
Schedule and conduct career assessments for students.
Monitor and evaluate student training and progress regarding work performance.
Participates on committees, task forces, boards, student meetings, etc., as appropriate.
Receives, reviews, prepares and/or submits various records and reports, including various student and program records, student progress reports, grant applications, memos, correspondence, etc.
Operates a variety of equipment which may include a computer, telephone, audio-visual equipment, calculator, fax machine, copier, etc.
Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals, such as the immediate supervisor, other District/school administrators, teachers, guidance counselors, other District personnel, students, parents, sales representatives, etc.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
Provides employment awareness opportunities for students, including arranging field trips, securing speakers, etc.
Coordinates student service projects.
Performs general administrative and clerical tasks as necessary, including but not limited to, typing, emailing, copying and filing documents, answering the telephone, scheduling appointments, preparing mail, etc.
Performs related duties as required.
QUALIFICATION
Qualified candidates must possess or be eligible for South Carolina teaching certification.
