Imagine Firestone teachers will inspire and prepare all students for a future success through:

• Reading and writing instruction starting with a RIGGS phonics approach and growing into authentic literature and writing experiencesMath instruction using the Singapore Math approach (Math in Focus)The creation and use of thematic Core Knowledge units for science and social studiesCollaboration between general classroom teachers and the partner teachers of Music, Art, PE, and LatinCharacter education integrated into lesson plansCreating a learning experience that supports each child's learning needsEnforcement of a dress codeRegular assessment of progress toward academic standardsClose collaboration with parents and families

Imagine Firestone is looking for teachers with the following qualifications/expectations:

• The desire to support the six measures of excellence listed aboveThe understanding that common plan time will be scheduled to allow for structured grade level meetingsThe expectation that there will be afterschool meetings on a weekly basisThe commitment to improving curriculum and instruction through collaboration, best practices, and regular assessment.The desire to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.A B.A./B.S. degree in subject area intended to teachA Colorado license in subject area or grade level intended to teach (preferred)
