Deane Elementary is a K-6 neighborhood school in Lakewood. We have approximately 400 talented and motivated students along with a staff of 60 to support those learners. We value and celebrate all types of diversity. Deane is the hub of the community and welcomes all families into our building every day as well as for special events such as curriculum nights, music performances, and cultural celebrations.

At Deane we pride ourselves on teaching in an authentic way with real world connections to support learning and understanding of concepts. We are a 1:1 iPad school and our staff has the skills and ability to integrate technology across the curriculum. Our students use technology to learn, create, and explore.

The interventionist position at Deane acts as a resource person to promote student and teacher growth in learning and teaching literacy and math for students in need of acceleration or intervention. The focus of this position is to develop, implement, and assess literacy and/or math intervention instruction for students through the use of best practices in instruction, including conducting progress monitoring and data analysis of students' progress. On-going collaboration with classroom teachers and all support staff is inherent to this position.

Min-Mid Annual Salary Range: $40,989 - $57,654


SUMMARY: Responsible for instructing students in an elementary grades K-6. Creates lesson plans, instructs students on core subjects such as science, literature, and math, and creates a well-rounded, comprehensive instructional preparedness based on the District's Core Curriculum. Create instructional resources for use in the classroom.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities.

Create positive educational climate for students to learn in.

Meet course and school-wide student performance goals.

Participate in ongoing training sessions.

Create lesson plans and modify accordingly throughout the year.

Grade papers and perform other administrative duties as needed.

Read and stay abreast of current topics in education.

Utilize various curriculum resources and technologies to enhance student learning.

Integrate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans.

Utilize District curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served.

Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.

Prepare and distribute parent communications.

Observe and evaluate student's performance.

Manage student behavior in the classroom creating appropriate behavior strategies.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING Teacher must hold Colorado Teaching License or authorization. Must meet content-area qualifications, which could include the appropriate license endorsement, degree in the content area, Colorado State Board of Education-approved content exam, or 36 credit hours as determined by the district.
