St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute, an all-boys Lasallian Catholic high school in Buffalo, announces an opening for the full-time position of Biology Teacher to begin in the fall of 2019. The successful candidate will inspire our high school students through challenging and interactive courses in our state-of-the-art science facilities. The position offers a salary that exceeds or is closely competitive with compensation at local private and public high schools.
Candidate Profile:
Content expertise is expected, as is the desire and ability to teach students of diverse backgrounds on an individual level. The ideal candidate will try innovative and creative ways to bring excitement to the program. Eagerness to contribute as a life-long learner as part of a true professional learning community is a must. Most importantly, the candidate must be open to developing meaningful teacher-student relationships with the young men at St. Joe's.
Appropriate certifications and degrees are required. A completed (or in-progress) master's degree is preferable. Experience teaching Advanced Placement Biology is preferred, but not required.
Role and Responsibilities:
The candidate will be expected to participate fully in all obligations of a high school teacher - incorporating modern and ever-changing educational technology to suit students' learning.
The Biology Teacher reports to the Principal and will work together with students, faculty, and administrators.
