Job Summary
Leads high school programs and activities which focus on progressing all students through a continuum to support the transition to post-secondary success. Oversees the academic programming, career-connected learning, and GEAR UP teams. Additionally, the Executive Director of High School Supports will ensure career collaborations with key career readiness constituents. This work also involves serving as the liaison among the Office of High School Supports, other District offices, and external partners.
Essential Functions
  • Coordinates and oversees the transition process from middle to high schools; assesses the level and type of support necessary to facilitate the change; collaborates with various District offices to ensure a seamless conversion and adherence to all guidelines governing the process.
  • Plans, develops, coordinates and/or delivers a comprehensive professional development program for high school principals and assistant principals.
  • Directs a staff engaged in the development, implementation and facilitation of High School Plan, high school programs, grants and activities in the Office of Academic Supports; reviews and monitors the attainment of departmental goals by subordinate staff.
  • Collaborates with District offices, Learning Networks and school-based personnel on the design, development and implementation of extended learning opportunities for high school students.
  • Visits high school sites; makes observations regarding the programs, climate and environment; makes evaluations and recommendations for improvement based on an assessment of compiled information.
  • Establishes and maintains communication channels with school leaders to promote and enhance programming.
  • Serves as the liaison between the Office of High School Supports and other District offices; establishes and maintains external partnerships.
  • Resolves challenges/concerns related to high school activities; meets with principals as needed to provide support.
  • Represents the District at meetings, conferences and discussions with representatives of external organizations.
  • Compiles, analyzes, and disseminates a variety of data related to the implementation of Anchor Goal 1 strategies and actions.
  • Maintain a culture of trust and shared leadership, and excellence across teams and functions
Minimum Requirements
  • Master's degree program at an accredited college or university.
  • Eight years of full-time, paid, professional experience in secondary education, three of which have been in an administrative or supervisory capacity and have included responsibility for the development and/or coordination of professional development activities.
  • All work experience related to the position must be included on the resume.

Certificates/Licenses
Possession of a valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Secondary Principal certificate.
OR
Possession of a valid Superintendent's Letter of Eligibility issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Additional Job Information: This is a 12-month, non-represented role. The salary grade for this position is 4032.
