ABOUT THE SCHOOL/DEPARTMENT

Dunstan is a comprehensive 950 student 6-8 middle school in Green Mountain. We are 27% FRL and 28% minority. Our feeder schools range from Rooney Ranch with a 4% poverty enrollment to Foothills Elementary that has a 70% poverty rate; and all these beautiful children file into the melting pot that is Dunstan.

At Dunstan we have a seven period day which means students can have up to three electives per semester and we're committed to this. Teachers have two plan periods, which makes for a more spontaneous and planned collaboration.

Dunstan is a restorative school. Every Wednesday every classroom in the building has community building circles, and informal conferences are facilitated in order to resolve conflict and repair harm. We are about passion and joy, and community with a restorative culture. We are a Healthy School. Whether you teach an elective or a core content class, we want you to teach to your passion.

We are committed to providing authentic learning opportunities for students as aligned to the four Green Mountain Area Academies (Business and Global Studies/ Health and Human Services/ Arts, Humanities and Performing Arts/ STEM).
