Posting for Elementary Coordinator of English/Language Arts

The Scarsdale Public Schools seek a talented, experienced, and innovative educator to serve as an Elementary Coordinator for ELA in Scarsdale's five elementary schools spanning grades K-5. The elementary program focuses on developing each learner in a highly challenging, nurturing, and intellectually and emotionally supportive environment.

The position of Elementary Coordinator requires a collaborative teacher leader with an extensive teaching background and a demonstrated record of accomplishment. The successful candidate for coordinator will exhibit the following criteria:

• possess a thorough understanding of elementary education, next generation ELA standards and the development of young learners;
• demonstrate intellectual breadth and resilience;
• inspire and promote meaningful collaboration horizontally and vertically;
• model and promote critical and creative thinking;
• possess excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills;
• create an environment that fosters mutual respect among students, parents, and teachers;
• be a strong advocate for children, and;
• hold a New York State elementary teaching certificate
