The program serves students in grades K-4 and provides them with academic support and enrichment activities. Here's what you need to know
KIPP NJ is looking for a talented, motivated, mission-driven individual to manage the after-school and summer program at KIPP Lanning Square Primary in Camden. The program serves students in grades K-4 and provides them with academic support and enrichment activities. As program director, you would be responsible for managing all aspects of the program, including:
- Ensuring high-quality academic and enrichment programming for every student in every classroom.
- Hiring, managing, and developing a team of part-time program staff.
- Planning and managing program logistics, including the daily program schedule, dinner procedures, dismissal procedures, and student attendance and enrollment.
- Establishing, maintaining, and reinforcing high behavior expectations for students.
- Working with both school staff and outside partners to develop new programming in response to student needs and interests
- Building relationships and regularly communicating with families
- Creating an after-school culture that is fun, welcoming, and engaging for both students and adults.
- Cultivate and nurture relationships with KIPP teaching staff to build engagement with the after school and summer progra

- Maintain regular contact with parents and families in order to urgently and proactively address family concerns or issues that arise.
- Manage various aspects of the program's finances - including purchasing. budgeting, and writing quarterly grant reports.
Must Haves
- Bachelor's degree
- Previous experience working with students in urban settings
- A mission-driven belief in the value of after-school programming for all children
- Strong people skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders, including parents, students, part-time staff, KIPP staff, external vendors, etc.
- The ability to work independently and autonomously
- Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail
- Zest, grit, hope, love, social intelligence, gratitude, and a sense of humor (because we take our work seriously, but not ourselves.)
