   License and Certification Qualifications: Workers' Compensation Professional certificate preferred.

Education Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.

Experience Qualifications: Four years experience in Property and Casualty Insurance and Worker's Compensation required.

Skills Qualifications: Effective communication skills both written and verbal; strong computer skills including the Microsoft Office Suite; ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence; ability to read, comprehend, and apply complex insurance and Worker's Compensation regulations; ability to use common sense; ability to deal with problems with concrete variables; basic math skills; and ability to work across functional boundaries and interact with employees at all levels of the organization.

Primary Responsibilities: Work closely with the Risk Manager to implement the insured and self-insured Worker's Compensation, Student Accident, and Property and Casualty programs for the district.

1. Process required state Worker's Compensation and insurance forms.
a. Coordinate medical services for injured workers.
b. Maintain and update required risk management records.
c. Process and adjust Worker's Compensation claims.
d. Communicate and coordinate claim benefits with employee, supervisor, physician, lawyer, other district departments, insurance companies, and third party administrators.

2. Process and adjust district fleet, property, and general liability claims.
a. Assist assigned counsel in defense of litigated matters.
b. Assist in financial reporting for the department.
c. Assist in seeking recovery for damages to district property.

3. Work with the Risk Manager to coordinate the School Board Insurance program.
a. Consult with broker to implement the bid process.
b. Coordinate receipt of bid packages for market assignment and award.
c. Compile financial and statistical data for the insurance bid process.
d. Maintain current policies, riders, and endorsements.
e. Process insurance renewals and policy premiums.
f. Provide coverage information to Board employees as necessary.

4. Coordinate annual enrollment for the Student Insurance program.

5. Prepare, process, and submit claims to insurance carriers for consideration.

6. Maintain recourse of system inspections and process renewals and policy premiums.
a. Maintain district property values and contractor's equipment list.
b. Coordinate systemwide boiler inspection program between the Building Maintenance Department and insurance companies.

7. Maintain records of panel physician performance issues and assist in the annual panel review.

8. Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time. The employee is also required to talk, hear, stand, and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
