TITLE: K-4 Teacher Assistant / Homework Club supervisor

Supervisor: Principal

Work Schedule: Monday/Thursday 8:00 - 3:00; Tues/Weds 8:00 - 5:00 and Friday 8:00 - 1:00

Annual Schedule: August 13, 2019 - May 29, 2020

Pay: $17.50/hour plus health/dental and PERA retirement benefits

SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION:

Supports K-4 teachers with planning and instruction aligned with the Colorado Academic Standards. Supervises assigned students and maintains a positive learning environment. Adapt instruction to meet the individual learning needs of all students resulting in an increased probability of advancing their achievement. Maintain positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and community members.

SUPERVISED BY: School Principal/Assistant Principal

ESSENTIAL JOB ELEMENTS:

1. Push-in support teachers with 5th-8th grade math curriculum.

1. Support the after school homework club for 5th-8th graders, two days each week.

1. Participate in group meetings focusing on student learning and individual growth goals/goals.

1. Participate in the development and enhancement of a school-wide culture that promotes professional growth and student learning.

1. Provide supervision in the lunchroom/playground and during recess and breaks.

1. Teach to an identified learning objective, presents content accurately, implements a variety of instructional strategies, checks frequently for student understanding, and monitors student progress.

1. Adapt instruction to meet the learning needs of all students thus increasing the probability of advancing their achievement. Uses analytic tools to break down NWEA and PARCC testing data to drive instruction.

1. Promote and maintain student behavior expectations conducive to learning and maximizing learning time.

1. Establish and demonstrate positive relations with students, parents, other staff members, and the community.

1. Ensure the accuracy, completeness, confidentiality, and security of all student information.

1. Comply with School policies and procedures.

1. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor's degree required.
2. Active teacher authorization or license issued by the State of Colorado, preferred.
3. Active Colorado substitute license required.

5. Effective time management and organizational skills.
