Job Description / Essential Elements:

Carter G. Woodson is seeking a qualified principal with at least 3 years teaching experience and 3 years administrators experience preferably as an Instructional Coach, Principal or Vice Principal. As Principal it is required to coach and mentor teachers. Principals must be familiar with the state standards and how to implement the standards in the classroom. Principals applying must have experience with high risk youth. The Principal is responsible for instruction, academic success, discipline, attendance, and creating a positive school culture. The Principal must be able to coordinate and insure Direct Instruction within the classroom.

Principals must have a plan to turn around our P-I status by making visible academic gains each year. Principals must be able to work late and long hours when needed. Computer skills are required. Training in curriculum is required. Experience with charter schools is preferred. A commitment to our students and Fresno is important.
