    Position: Assistant Principal/Dean of Students
    Location: Windham Middle School
    We are currently seeking applications for an Assistant Principal/Dean of Students at Windham Middle School. Successful candidates will be creative, energetic, self-starters who are passionate about serving an urban population and contributing to a school, which has shown academic growth. We are seeking candidates that have demonstrated and developed strong student, parent and teacher relationships in the pursuit of academic excellence. The Assistant Principal/Dean of Students must be committed and dedicated to the highest expectations for students, staff and all members of the school community. S/he will be responsible for academic instructional coaching, the management of students, and establishing a school culture built on rigor and excellence, with uniformly high expectations. The Assistant Principal/Dean of Students does whatever is expected in order to ensure that the mission of the school is upheld, including but not limited to: proactively planning and executing systems to drive positive student behavior; creating an academics-focused culture of achievement; responding to issues related to behavior or disciples; oversees student supports and interventions.
    Qualifications Required: CT certification in Intermediate Administration (092); advanced degree in Educational Leadership or a related field; 5-year minimum of being a successful tenured teacher, preferably in an urban setting; preferred administrative experience ability to administer discipline in a firm, fair, effective and consistent manner. Preferred experience with restorative practices. Demonstrates the ability to effectively communicate with students, staff, parents and community members in a multicultural community setting. Demonstrates strengths in leadership, as well as, sound interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrates experience in programs and strategies for students who receive Special Education and English Language Learner services. Has the ability to work cooperatively with parents/the community toward a common goal. Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred.
    Salary and Terms of Employment: Salary in accordance with the Windham Administrator Association contract. Twelve-month position.
