Position Overview
The KIPP Foundation is seeking a qualified and social media savvy individual to help drive KIPP's social media communications strategy. This is an opportunity to join a high-performing organization in its 25th year to increase public awareness and understanding of the amazing work taking place across more than 200 schools each day.

We can only do that if we have a strong, recognizable, credible brand and tell compelling stories. The KIPP Communications team works to share KIPP's inspiring story across a variety of communications media and works with KIPP regions to maintain that strong national KIPP brand.
The Social Media Associate will help lead social media strategy for the KIPP Foundation, and work in close partnership with the KIPP regions. This is a great opportunity to work collaboratively with a fast-paced, mission-driven team while gaining experience in strategic communications and marketing.
The Social Media Associate is a member of the Policy and Public Affairs team, itself comprised of: Communications, Federal Advocacy and Policy, Local Policy, Community Engagement, Marketing, and Alumni Impact and Leadership. The Social Media Associate will work collaboratively within these team functions and across other teams at the KIPP Foundation as needed.
The Opportunity
The Social Media Associate uses strong project and people management skills to help build and execute on an annual social media communications strategy at the KIPP Foundation. The Social Media Associate will support and work with the Communications Team to help train regional communications managers on social media strategy and tactics, ensuring that KIPP speaks with one voice wherever possible. The Social Media Associate will collaborate with a variety of stakeholders, focusing on the following responsibilities:
•Sourcing, drafting, and publishing daily social media content across multiple channels, aligned to an editorial and messaging calendar
•Contributing to and driving an influencer strategy to facilitate connections and increase engagement with KIPP leadership
•Monitoring, listening, and responding to conversations on social media and responding to in-bound email messages generated by KIPP's website to increase engagement and provide customer service to families, staff, and community members
•Contributing to a national strategy for KIPP alumni engagement on social media platforms
•Gathering and analyzing social media metrics weekly to provide insights and recommendations to those who manage school and region-based KIPP social media pages across the country
•Bringing your voice and experience as a KIPP Alumnus to all KIPP Communications projects and providing critical input and feedback on KIPP Foundation initiatives as needed

Experience and Qualifications
•Bachelors or equivalent experience required
•2+ years of experience
•Passion for KIPP's mission and values and educational equity
•Demonstrated interest in a career in communications or marketing
•An understanding of how to leverage social media to meet communications objectives
•The role is based in the New York office and reports directly to the Senior Director of Communication 
•Travel requirements 10-15%
•Full-time, exempt role
